Let us introduce you to some key personnel in our church.
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Gerry Arnold
Gerry has been married to John since 1975. They have two children and three grandchildren. Gerry was trained as a primary teacher and has taught in a number of local schools over the years. Nowadays, as well as working for the church she is a link tutor which involves visiting trainee teachers when they are in schools. Gerry has also run a number of parenting courses as a volunteer with the national charity ‘Positive Parenting’. As a member of the leadership team Gerry is an organizer, so it falls to her to pull together many of our activities and liaise with the various teams. She is often involved with pastoral matters in church. She is a team player and a problem solver who loves to encourage people as they grow into maturity and see that God is so much bigger than we ever realise.

John Callaghan
John is married to Penny and both have taught in Petersfield Schools for many years. John has a wealth of experience in youth work which is currently being outworked in the King’s Arms youth project. John is passionate about all the Christians in Petersfield being the body of Christ and sees Life Church Petersfield as part of that one Church. He believes that we should serve the church and is currently exploring ways that our life in worship can be shared with other churches. Penny and John have also been involved in many Alpha courses, ‘I simply love the Holy Spirit weekend’ says John. John usually helps with our baptisms, networking within the community and further afield. John says ‘I believe our church has life to give to this community and we should be on the front foot of expectation eagerly praying for more opportunities to be Jesus in the community. John also has a vision for connecting us in the broader network of churches across our region.

Mike Gibson
Mike was born in Jarrow in the North East of England and has been married to Chris since 1972. They have two daughters and two grandchildren.After a three-year Bible College training in Northumberland they served for over 10 years in a missionary society. It was while with this organisation they moved to Hampshire and in 1985 came to the church here in Petersfield.Mike now works as an accountant in a manufacturing group of companies based in Alton.He has a passion for exploring and understanding the relevance of God’s heart for the world. His heart is to see a strong church made up of individuals that are released to fulfill their potential. He longs to see the church relevant to the people in Petersfield.
