Crusaders

Crusaders is part of a National Christian Youth Organisation, now known as Urban Saints, committed to reaching young people for Christ and engaging them in effective Christian living.

Since Crusaders was established at the beginning of the 20th Century, society has changed enormously and 96% of children and young people today have no contact with the church and almost no understanding of the Christian faith.

Our main aim in Petersfield is to reach out to those who would otherwise have no Christian contact.

Petersfield Crusaders has been running for 29 years and we currently have 40 children, aged 7-13yrs, on our register.  We have predominantly unchurched children.   The majority of our children come from the Cranford Road area.  We meet in The Petersfield School every Friday evening, during term time, from 6.30-8pm.

In addition to our teaching session, we offer a range of activities including sports such as uni-hoc, rounders, football, team games and craft.  We also run a tuck shop during the evening.

There are opportunities during the year for day outings and camps.  Crusaders own a residential centre on the Isle of Wight which provides wonderful facilities and gives us opportunities to join with other Crusader groups in our area.

There are currently 6 helpers involved with Crusaders from Life Church Petersfield.
